Ok I was only told this last night and that by someone who used to hang around there when I did.
If I am wrong on this I apologize, maybe it's the renovations going on out the front that made him think that.
But as I said I was told last night as if it had just happened.
I would like to know if it is still open this week or if it is just closed for renovations.
Sorry, I'm just relying on another persons knowledge on this one.

Nelson - i'm not even getting into whether or not that is true, last i was there in Sept it definitely was not the case. Anyone who knows who owns it would be surprised to hear of this, but then anything is possible.

My point is saying on a forum that someones business is closed when it is not, on the basis of a rumour is out of order.
Imagine if you had a bar or restaurant and someone posted that on a tourist forum for the area and then potential customers did not bother to come. Seems the board lynch mob are out again. If someone here said Nicke's bar was closed , i wonder what the response would be ?

It was usual prices when i was there in Sept, but anything is possible in Thailand ! I heard there have been changes inside the bar to the format . Im back in Phuket in a couple of weeks so can ask Jeff what's up then but I cannot definitively say whether there's any nonsense going on there or not- not a smart strategy if there is and if it has management consent though. That whole site though has some strangeness with the leases going on too , nature will surely take its course !

I would imagine a false rumor of it being shut would be the least of the owners worries.

My 2nd day in Phuket I walk up the road and a guy offers me to see a ping pong show, I have heard these are funny so me and a friend walked in with him. We sat down and asked for a drinks menu and it was 800 for a tiger, 800 - 900 for most drinks actually so we said we won't pay these prices and got up and walked out. The guy followed us saying come back all the way until we just told him we go to hotel for more money we are coming back (obv lie to get rid) but couldn't believe those prices. Not been back and leave today so I won't get to see one

I wouldn't have been so polite to the tout if he followed me like that after leaving, have little patience now for ripoffs. Had a tuk tuk drop me off at a restaurant with 330 baht fried rice first time I visited Thailand. Didn't know until got bill, as had only ordered rice to go with meal, but was given fried rice. My lesson was to check prices more carefully (I could and would have refused the fried rice had I checked price, since wasn't what I had ordered).

Never been to a gogo in Phuket, but never noticed the ones in Bangkok having crazy prices for beer. In fact given the scale of some of them (so many women on seforum.xxxe), I was surprised they weren't charging more - based on pricing I had seen for bars with a live band on Bangla (140baht from memory).

Delete them if you wish. I was going to go down to the Roxy tonight to check on my friends comments from last night but got caught at the re-opening of the Offshore bar (name change to Don's Bar B Q 2)
I haven't seen the big Roxy sign there recently and have seen the renovations in front so what I would like to know is: Is it open or not?
