Russian ****** scam

This is going on at Le Meridien I've been told. Russian ******s are sitting by the pool during the day time and guys hit on them all day buying them drinks. Girls are going back to rooms with the guys thinking the girls are tourists and just here for some fun and they are not being asked for any money.

When the guys check out they find an extra 3000 baht added to their bill and when they query it they are told "for girl"! So the staff there must be in on it too. Amazing Thailand!

I have to say tho.. I would have thought that if I went to my room, in the daytime, with another guest of the hotel, I would be pissed at paying a joiner fee.. I mean what if I invite a few of my mates round the room for a beer, they add a JF to my room charges ??

JF is one thing when applied to bringing back local ******s.. Its either a way of getting a cut or a way of discouraging it depending on view.. But daytime room visitors from already inside the hotel.. No that strikes me as a bit scam like.

So what's in it for the Russian girl? No mention of payment for services.

If she is staying there as a guest, then why a joiner fee? If she is not a guest, why is she allowed by the pool?

I'm sure a fee gets discussed at some point, either at the pool or back at the room. Doubt they're giving out freebies then working it out later with the hotel staff.

First can I suggest that the mods delete any reference to the hotel name - and replace it with a well-known 5 star hotel or similar.
A recent thread on beer bars refused - rightly I feel - to name ones that might pad the bin - since such allegations could not be verified.

In Oct 2004 I stayed in a beach road Patong hotel that always seemed to have several bar girl types hanging around the pool in bikinis but not swimming much etc - at the time I wondered if this was a variation on the free-lancers who hang around bars and pay a fee to the establishment to do so whether they get a customer or not (bar in Soi 8 BKK comes to mind - has a sign on the wall in Thai detailing requirements for the FLs).

Russian FL hangs around pool at a hotel, pays fee to hotel for access to pool etc - same as FL at bar does - gets paid by customers she scores at hotel - hotel hits guest - unexpectedly - for joiner fee because he took a bar girl to his room - hotel know she is a h00ker because they let her ply her trade there in the first place – oldest scam in the book ain’t it? – make the rules, then place temptation in someone’s path and then hit them with a penalty when they break (your) rules like you knew they would – the Bible says God pulled that one on Adam and Eve.

I just heard from a contact that hes met and been with one of these ruski (Kazak) girls staying in the bungalows in the approach rd by accident, not charged but then she told him thats what she did for a living... In a roundabout way confirms lots of points..

He has some pics of her online but they are his so..

That's the way my mate told me. Guys were chatting up these Russian girls by the pool all day and taking them back to their rooms and supposedly the girls just left in the morning...no money changing hands. But then when the guys went to check out they spotted this extra 3000 baht on their bill and when querying were told it was for the lady.

So maybe it's just the hotel staff being alert...knowing that these blondes aren't staying in the hotel but see them accompany guys to their rooms and so stick the Joiner Fee on the guys' tab.

So it's the JF being applied which the guys would know nothing about unless they asked when checking in.

I think I may have not got the full story. It's more likely the girls are h00kers and the guys taking them to their rooms do establish that and DO pay them but the hotel staff are aware of what's going on and stick the JF on the guys' bills.


Didn't see any James Bond types when I was there but I blended in quite well with the guests with my big belly, Hawaiin shirt and shades. Saw a group of gay chaps...I wonder if they pay Joiner Fees!

That makes sense as I remember seeing some of those bungalows up for VERY LOW rent...think I saw signs up saying 5000 baht a month some time ago. If they stay in the bungalows maybe they are allowed access to the pool at the Meridien. Even if that isn't part of the deal I can't see anything to stop them going and sitting by the pool anyway. Maybe these Russian girls are the same that work in the new gogo or maybe they just ply their trade around the upmarket hotels.

Couple of weeks ago in Bangla I saw a stunning blonde in her 20's with 2 elderly Japanese...I wonder where they found her ;-)
