Although the nightclubs in Patong are good, i really think someone needs to invest in creating a "daddy" of clubs. An Ibiza type superclub would go down a treat...get some decent European DJs, and sack the Thai ones who are shit. So if any ones got some serious money to burn do it!

Totally agree with IJ :thumbsup: . I think the discos in patong are great right now. No possible way I would like to swap Tai pan with any nightclub in europe. I think the atmosphere in tai pan is great right now I dont see how it could become any better.

any of you guys ever go to a thai disco that has a kive band that sings covers. its really fun, you get a table and the thai girls love it. like i said jonny, if you go to chiang mai, theres a a great one and the girls will love it

Yes marc , the real thai discos are awesome. Last tour i spent 3 nights in Udon Thani and discovered "Mambo" best disco in town. Packed to the rafters every night of the week with regular thais partying so hard. Really great live band doing energetic shows. I went alone and was adopted by a table of thais drinking whisky withing a few minutes of arriving each time. Despite my protests they refused to take a dime from me, as i was a guest in their town. Didnt see any other falang the nights i was there.

Dont think you will get much support for your idea Dazzlethai. The clubs are great as they are and are what Patong is all about.An Ibiza style club belongs in Ibiza only.Let the clubbers carry on going there.I dont particularily wish to see Patong turned into an Ibiza with all the farangs drugged up everywhere. :thumbsdow

I am not saying the discos are shit, because they are not.

all i am saying is that a club is needed where the empasis is on the music as oppsed to BG's. Lets face it, if the Patong clubs had no BG's no one would go. They are just 'meat markets'. If you are holiday for a few weeks then all you will thiink about is shagging BGs. If you live there, or spend an extended amount of time there, the BGs can get on your tits. The attitude of some farangs (particually Italians), who think that little BG is his 'girlfriend', also gets monotonous.

Having a good club may attract some of the 'Ibiza type' but whats wrong with that. Ok, they do drugs, but so do loads of people who already go to LOS. Patong isnt the sex tourism hotbed of Thailand....yet, but it could well go that way and be Pattaya2. Having other attractions will stop it going that way which can only be good as there is so much more to Phuket than bargirls. The guys in Patong, who are there just to get their **** wet, wont agree...if so..why dont you go to Pattaya?

If clubbing is your thing you will have more fun on Samui and Kho Phan Gan, lots of up for it clubbers and lots of mad nights possible.. Super Sub in Lamai was open until 5 - 6 last time I went there (Aug full moon and early Sept) and lots of beach parties etc..

Here on Phuket why not try the massageplanete Du Kamala recently opened by easyflip an italian DJ who used to do stints in the dragon.. Chilled and beach house in the day getting harder in the evening.. Its probably the only place on Phuket where the music is really a priority and of a acceptable quality for real clubbers..

When I first came here (having run clubs and venues) I also thought a real club would work (though I prefer more intimate venues that super clubs) but once you start to realise that many of the visitors age demographics and reasons for visiting are what they are (no offence) house culture may not have enough broad appeal.. Also Thai drug laws would need to be considered and its highly likely any venue catering directly to that market would get regular piss testing and shut down.

Samui is definatley the place for clubs, and Koh Phan ngan is only a short ride for the full moon parties. On my last trip to samui I went to a club called mint, they had the jungle brothers on. http://www.mintbar.com This is the only club i've been to in a tourist area of thailand where the emphasis is on music not hookers.

There's also a number of other clubs such as green mango, solo, sweet soul, and some new place which has a swimmingpool!!! So if your after clubs,dj's and music, head to samui, theres plenty of good time girls too. But if it's only girls your after, stick to phuket, theres more choise, and IMHO the quality is better.

For some reason Phuket seems to attract very many good-looking BGs, although Pattaya for sure has a lot too, but so many girls there and many ugly ones too, from what I hear. BKK the beer bars do not compare well with Patong for the looks of the girls, you almost have to go to gogo. In Samui, godd looking girls are not so easy to find!
