The antibiotic used is a single dose of 4 pills. However, the doc I saw told me that the Clamydia which is going around these days seems to be "beating" the single dose. They are now prescribing Cipro (yep, the stuff that everyone was going crazy for during the amthrax scare - very powerfull antibiotic). Doc said that normally they would only prescibe the Cipro for secondary infections caused by the Clamydia (uninary tract, bladder, etc). Now, the doc's who are in the know are going right for the Cipro. In both cases of those I knew who contracted it, 3 rounds of Cipro were neccessary and they are still suffering from symptoms 6 months after the fact.
