And you must also realize that Cancer patients arent getting screened, even though they are suspected of having Cancer. And surgeries and other treatment, even for heart disease etc. are being cancelled or postponed. The govt doesnt expect to work through those for up to 2 years? And the only way they can 'catch up' is to deny future patients the same care because our system doesnt have the capacity to add 2 years worth of services.

No, I don't realize that the shutdown will cause production loss in the economy. Because it is only a temporary loss. The economy is never really permanently affected by anything. If you look at the history of the economy, it always recovers. Proof in point;

9/11 terrorist attacks: economy recovered.

October, 1987 market crash: economy recovered.

2008-2009 financial crisis: economy recovered.

1929 Great Depression: economy recovered.

1918 Spanish Flu: economy recovered.

2020 Covid-19 pandemic: Economy is already recovering as we speak.
