5K would probably get me through the night, but i need 8 / 9 k including day time just incase I have a St or two, massage, maybe a soapy or a trip to Lolitas if I am in BKK:intello:

I generally spend 10k [average] per day and at least 1/2 of that is between dinner and early morning. Some days that includes 2 LT so for a more typical day a little less than 5k. For some the beverage consumption would be an important factor.

I really like to have a good time so when I'm BKK about 12K does it for me,this I do about 4 times during my 2-3 week siesta,rest of the time just cruising.
When in Phuket I'm spending about 8K for a good time.

Yes tell the banks last year all my UK cards were blocked after i used them, 1st time this has ever happened in 12 yrs of visiting and spent an afternoon calling the various banks. (10k by the way safe amount to carry)

most nites its 5 or 6 k.........but some nites i blow the lot......
other nites i mite only do 2 or 3 k.......
i suppose one doesnt go on holidays to be counting his dosh...you go on holiday to have a good time..........

i just like to advise a 1st timer to budget high just so they dont have any limitations
for your 1st trip, you just dont want to worry about money
after that, you will know things a little better for next time and budget accordingly
just work your ass off until the time comes
and have fun

Most of you guys are right with your calculations.
In May this year I averaged around 2500-3000 baht per day.
Included day time entertainment, food, drinking, and followed up with dinner, Mai Tai bar until 2.30am then onto soi Tiger or similar until 4.30-5am drinking more. Also had the odd massage and of course ciggies as well.
Good value for the missus and I however there was obviously no BF, ST, or LT.

As for our mates wanting to spend 20 quid a day. Stay home wankers.

We spent about 1,500 to 2,000 baht durig the day. (not including shopping)
At night which was generally at the first bar at 10:30/11pm to about 3/4am we would spend any where between 5,000 to 14,000bht not including any bar fines or ST.
