What to talk about?

It strucks me as well, but it's obviously a very common problem for many people if you look at the amount of training and motivation books available like...How to speak to everyone etc.

BG's are built for comfort not for conversation.

I tend sometimes to make a selection earlier in the night, pay the BF and tell em I will be back later to pick em up, say at 12 or 1. That way I can get out with the rest of the smoozers and have a laugh and a joke and the BG is happy cause she knows she can make a few dollars on the lady drinks or maybe even slip in a ST. If it comes around to 1am and I am still going strong wherever I am I slip one of the drinks girls a quick 100 baht and get her to pop off to whatever bar the root de juer is ensconced at and tell her to come over to wherever I am drinking. aaahhhhh now that is true "home delivery" service.

Talk to em... you gotta be joking...lol

isn't "conversation" all part of natural selection? If you fail to impress a girl... you don't get the chance to procreate and nature has again triumphed... ridding its self of a "weak gene". So either "adapt" or join the extinct "genes" list ;-)
But if you aren't into Darwinism... then just get really drunk... you'll be amazed at how brilliant you are at conversation then....

I plan on teaching the girls the drinking game called "asshole". it has a president, a vice president, and of course an asshole......I didnt name it so no wise cracks please. BTW will BG's play this wonderful game?....Has anyone attemted this already....or is it a fav pastime already....lol...thanks

Play their favorite game ... and optionally pretend you do not understand it. They have a lot of patience and will merely enjoy a few lady drinks while you are "learning".

If they speak and understand english on a avarage level try to talk with them about normal things like you do back home.The first night you meet them in the bar is the normal "bullshit" but if you stay together for a longer time then try to talk about thier family etc...I never find it hard to talk to them.........But at the moment i have gf who speak fluent english so sometime i am in trouble 55555555555...

Thanks for all the advice guys.
I've been to LOS (Patong) twice before, so I know all about the 'standard 5 questions'. I've also played 'Bingo' (Connect-4), hammer/nail game, dice game and the building-block game. I've spent many hours in various bars, and chatted to many BGs, but I just wondered if there was something that I was missing out on?

I'm not the kind of person who gets so completely trashed that I can't remember where I've been, who I was with, or what I've done. I like to remain reasonably sensible. If I do get trashed, I just fall asleep; I don't want to wake-up under the MTB in the morning!

I like the idea of showing the BGs some tricks. I know 2 (poss 3) card tricks, so maybe I can dazzle them with those. I've asked somebody at work to teach me some more simple tricks, so I will see what I can learn in the next 3 months.

I realise that I'm not there to entertain them, but rather we are there to entertain each other, but I'm hopeless at this kind of thing, so that's why I asked for some advice.

I'm not too sure bout that one.
I have had first hand experience with a "hardened bg", when it came to giving her some money to leave next morning.
I handed over the usual 1000-1200, only to have it thrown back at me in anger.
She said something along the lines of......Why you only give me 1000b?....Last night at bar you spend 5000b & ring bell for 1000b, & buy everyone drinks......You think you can boom boom me & only pay me 1000b?
I ended up giving her 1500 just to keep the peace & fcuked her off.

I still ring the bell nowadays....but am cautious of who I have in tow with me.

i think my gf struggles a little bit with the fact she sees me spend 10-15k/nt when im on holiday but then tell her no or limit the funds i send to her

she never complains or brings it up but im sure it is the back of her mind

Never thought of it that way, but the girl made a damned good point!!!!!
Maybe the best way is the one that has been suggested by other BMs...... BF a girl early........ go party elsewhere....then pick her up later ( so she doesn't know what you have been up to!!)

I've always found that girls love to teach you a little Thai if you're interested at all.It can be fun to learn a
few new words or fine tune your accent on the words you already know.The girls get a real kick out of a farang stumbling through their langauge.

If your knowledge of Thai geography is any good, you can try my favourite game. I try to find out first where they come from so that when the inevitable "Where you come from?" comes up I tell them I live in another village in the same province or from the next province over and see how long I can keep up the bullshit. Always good for a laugh, but then you have to convince them that you don't have a wife or girlfriend living wherever you have just told them you come from.
