Why did the media not report Al Gore's sexual assault of a Portland massage

therapist? In 2006 Al Gore checked into a hotel in Portland under the alias of "Mr. Stone". He asked the hotel for a massage therapist. When the message therapist arrived she was sexually assaulted by Al, Mr Stone, Gore. The Police Report classified the case as Sexual Abuse III. The media had the story but never released it. Why did the media not report Al, Mr. Stone, Gore's sexual assault case?

3. The woman in question then refused to cooperate with police in the investigation
4. The police dropped the case as there was simply no evidence

Given the absence of a rape kit, and no evidence of a cover-up by the Portland (OR) police, her story sounds less than credible, and they correctly fear a libel lawsuit.

The Duke lacrosse accuser ruined it for those who are actually telling the truth. If she were sexually abused, where is the rape kit?

The National Enquirer in 2006 reported this story... the mainsteam press did not.

The National Enquirer reported in 2006 that Bush was off the wagon and that Laura Bush was no longer intimate with Bush and would be seeking a divorce lawyer when his term ended. The mainstream did not.

Why? Because there was not enough information or credence to either story. There is a reason that the National Enquirer is not considered with the gravity that other publications have. The main news agencies (like AP, Reuters, etc) do have some standards beyond presses like the tabloids. Stories have to be "tested" to a standard (like reliability of the witness, the measue of a criminal complaint and how the police and a prosecutor looks at the truth of the complaint, any discrepencies of the physical facts weighed to the complaint's story, etc... there was also not a arrest so I have to wonder why you are singling out the "media" and not mentioning the police department's lack of response).

BTW, today, Gore is not in a criminal or a civil court for such a crime and has not paid any settlement for such a incident. Today, Bush is still married to Laua Bush. These are both non-stories. I guess the the main-steam media had some insight on these incidents.
