Interesting theory……Years ago Trump gave intelligence on Israel to the Russians Ambassador and Foreign Minister. Russia shared that with Iran (who supports Hamas) in exchange for drones to attack Ukraine. Iran shared that intel with Hamas. Hamas used that to plan the attacks. More than 1,000 dead and counting

I view Hamas and Palestine differently. Yes, I know the Palestinians elected Hamas to govern, but taking actions that only terrorist use is not a legitimate government. Not letting your citizens flee the fighting but to use them as human shields instead is not the policy of a rationale actor. Hamas wants to destroy Israel, not co-exist with it. At least the PLO came to accept a policy of Israeli existence. I’m not saying Israeli and Palestinian are properly co-existing and there is not oppression. I’m not saying Israel doesn’t need to be a better actor themselves. But, Hamas killing and kidnapping unarmed civilians is a terrorist act. If they want a fight then attack the army or government office and let your own citizens flee. As I see what looks to be playing out is that Hamas wants the Israeli Army to invade Gaza and kill many of its civilians as possible in what would otherwise be called “collateral damage” to help turn world opinion against Israel and escalate into a wider regional war. Hamas will be using its own citizens as cannon fodder to achieve that goal. Iran wants Israel gone too and will use Hamas as a proxy to achieve that.

We all understand there are dead people when the gun shot, when the bomb dropped, when the tank fired. We see this every day from Ukraine. But that is not targeted cruelty.

What was there in Israel is different when Palestinins (from Hamas and other groups Jihad Islami, Isis etc) handcuffed people, curved not yet born child from pregnant women belly , burned people a live - it is different.
When Palestinians chanting in Australia - gas to Jews it is different.

There is a reason why the Chinise government find the only way to deal with their own internal Muslim threat - Uigurs - and keep them neutralized.

There is a reason why Germany let thousands of Muslims in and now silently deport hundreds every month of " I have no paper "Siryans. "They realized they were a threat to the country.

My Indian friends were blocked at home in Missiauga yesterday because Palestinians and their other Muslim supporters threatened them.
Yes, they do troubles in India as well and now bring it to Canada.

It is explained long ago in sociological studies in schools. Why do bullies have "freands" around them? After all, it is well known they are bad.
But if one supports bully, he is "safe", and the torture will happen (for now) to someone else.
So it is safe to support violent screaming crowed, despite inside you know they are bad. Be strong!

Long ago, the false perception of weak Palestinians and oppressing Israel got popular because people did not know what was happening there.

It is much safer and convenient to criticize Israel when you know nothing will happen to you or your family than be bitten by several (always several) Hamas supporters.

The similar question people ask themselves is, what about Russians and Putin. After all, isn't he elected by them? Aren't they supposed to be responsible? Aren't Germans responsible for Hitler?

Basically, I agree with you. Not fully. When the terror organization got power, it is too late. People are responsible not to let those guys get to the power

And knowing there is no fast answer, Israel is jeopardizing his own soldiers hunting Hamas and their leaders and requesting civil population to leave temporarily while Hamas stops them and using them as human shield.

On the other hand, you can google pictures of 9/11 where Palestinians ( not Hamas) celebrated the awful event on the streets.

And check what children of Gaza are taught in their schools. Schools which are built on Europe money, on US money, on Israel money ( were regularly transfered as collected taxes of people from Gaza working in Israel ). Hamas assigned their own teachers who taught hate, suicide bombing as life target, and Kalachnikov).

Oh right, that is so true. I remember when you explained to me when the Americans were first afraid of Italians. Then they were afraid of the Irish. Then the Chinese and then the Blacks. Today, America seems to fear the Mexicans and Jews. Which I find kind of odd since Jews are a very wealthy ethnicity..

I don't exactly see the link to wealth. I have wealthy Indian, Chinese, Jewish, Russian, Latin America friends. Some of them brought it from home country and successfully invested here. Some started from scratch.

If a terrorist organization was slaughtering innocent civilians in my people’s/nation’s name, I’d condemn it.

I haven’t heard one Palestinian condemn the attack. The Palestinians that were at the Toronto rallies/protests pretended they didn’t know anyone was killed. Some claimed it was only soldiers killed.

Palestine people and Arab world see them as patriots. Put yourself in their shoes, that's the only way you will find out why normal people become terrorists.

I don’t believe in Western media. Way too much propaganda . I have a good look at all sources. I was watching on BBC news this morning and it was very balanced analysis on the matter by a few Middle East experts. Western world may see Hamas as terrorists. Palestine people and Arab world see them as patriots. Put yourself in their shoes, that's the only way you will find out why normal people become terrorists.

Well, if you are looking for a root cause you can go back even a little bit further than Jewish immigrants and look at WWII and the Holocaust. After WWII, Jewish people sought safety and security. You could even call them refugees rather than immigrants. What is now Israel was their ancestral home and a logical place to look. It is also the Palestinian ancestral home. But, one question is “if there was never a Holocaust, would surviving Jews have fled Europe to the eastern Mediterranean en masse and would the State of Israel even exist today with all its issues?”

True Patriots have a code of honour. There is no honour in purposely targeting civilians, especially women and children. Patriots is a word that should only be applied to those with the moral high ground. Hamas could have targeted the Israeli military and government buildings instead of civilians. They didn’t and that is why they are terrorists.
