in reality, she very well could become terrible wife once she actually secured the wife position and therefore no longer need to try.

Believe it or not, a lot of these girls have a lot of stress in their lives. I think some really do value a relationship with someone they can trust and talk to about anything...I mean let's face it, it's not like they can talk to their civie friends and family about what goes on in their lives...

If you're really close to her, there's a good chance she will still see you on the side. The girl I really like, she told me next year she might need to settle down and find a partner. She's been single ever since she came to Canada and the financial burden is really hard on her. It will sting a lot but I know it's inevitable. I asked if she will still see me and without hesitation she said yes...I guess we'll see.

But this is exactly why it's important to have a few faves you really like at any given time...

I think your point is Correct .We Should have a few. From my personal experience with my fav. We are very close but one day she will tell me that she met boy friend and despite I wish her all the best it is very scary for me so I Hope she appreciates what I have done for her and will keep seeing me

I agree some girls you can't trust at all but I actually believe her...she's been pretty forthright with other stuff that she didn't have to tell me...

Ahhh I didn’t mean that it’s just the first time. I meant that you likely won’t be the last one.

We all have different motivations and as long as we are aware and consenting adults, and no one deliberately hurts another in the process, then nothing wrong with it.

The only bit of concern is a fav getting a partner and keeping you on the side . I will have to stop all of this when I settle down.

When we go to theater to watch show or movie, the point is not how much we can trust the plot or what the actors are saying. I think the only point is trying to enjoy the process/interaction. I get that guys want a intimate/trusting relationship, but maybe it's really asking for too much and too idealistic. I'm thinking, going forward I would only be seeking relationship where the interaction/experience is enjoyable. It's too idealistic to wish that they have some great moral qualities too.

But of course, in practice, the girl needs to be not flaky, not crazy, for the interactions to be enjoyable, I just mean I will not expect more than that.

Not trying to bring down the mood, but I think seeing the relationship as mostly businessperson and customer relationship explains a lot.

For the question asked in the title, like, can you really trust your real estate agent at all? How much can you trust your contact at car dealership? How much can you trust your mechanic? None of these people need to be "evil", they don't need to be "dishonest". But it's just reality that businessperson/customer relationship is just how it is.

However it really doesn't contradict with doing fun activities mentioned in this thread. Like you have to pay to play billards, not that far fetched to pay for other activities involving stick and holes.
