Also its not a case of 'if they can get it'.. as they are pricing high as they dont want to get it, they dont have enough girls, thier bars are in a crappy position with less foot traffic (so need a draw) and they paid HUGE key money for 3 years they are highly unlikely to get back.

So its changing from a beer bar where you go and chat with girls you might BF, to a coyotee dancer attraction where you drink and spend more in bar services.. Part of the blame lieing with the soi owners who now think any beer bar has to be worth 2 - 3 mil key money and 25 - 35k rent per month !!

By the way, the barfine quota per month varies greatly, bars have a requirement of 4 per month and upward for salary staff, which, surprisingly, many ladies struggle to achieve. You would think they are in the wrong game if they cannot go "off" with a customer once a week.

From what I'm told more like 20-30%, then again, boss isnt told too much,

• I have a few ex-massage girls who go off just for a massage only in the hotel loom.
• Plenty of older men cannot perform, they just enjoy the affection.. good on them.
• Others just want to go out for meal and dancing, no afters (like a date).
• guys full of P1ss take a lady home and just sleep.
• Bar owner friend of mine barfinds ladys from other bars when he's short staffed.

As a bar owner its a catch 22 situation, let the girls go long time early in the night you lose many potential customers, the barfine compensates for lost trade, in my bar and most others the money is split with the bar and the lady concerned. we mainly charge 400b but will occasionally go to 300 for various reasons.

I am surprised at the number of foriegn guys in Chiang Mai interested in taking a lady home who have no idea what to pay and to who. they don't understand the lady needs to be paid separately on top of the barfind..

I might make a barfind card for customers as follows.

1. You and the lady need to agree what are you going to do
   (drink more, eat, shopping, straight or kinky sex (how many times is important)
2. Let her know if you will refuse to use a condom or shower before leaving the bar. :beurk:
3. Tell her where you are staying so she can work out how to get home. she may need transport advice from the bar.
4. What time will she leave you. after an hour, in the morning or afternoon.
5. Then after considering all of the above, make an agreement with her on the value of her tip, 1000b would be a starting point.:rules:
   Then, arrange the barfind with the cashier. . . Have fun :love3:

If the bar owner is just 'protecting' there staffing level through out there opening hours. Then how is that cutting their own throats?

If the bar owner is in fact a pimp, and is looking to 'pimp out' his girls to make lots of money. Then I hope they do go out of business!

(yes I know its shades of grey, but I walk away from bars and never go back when the owner show pimp like behaviour!)

If a customer has occupied a girl lets say the last hours,just to wait til closing time to avoid barfine,there shouldnt be any problem as long as the lady has still been working.(means helping the bar to serve,pulling in guests,clean glasses,or whatever)If she just has been sitting also waiting for closing time its the lady who is wrong.Not the guest.However,amazingly how many cheapskates there are around trying to avoid Bf (and Ladydrinks).

Let me get this right!

You go to a bar which you first pay highly inflated prices for what are known as lady drinks. You then have to pay some type of fine if a girls chooses to go home with you before you finally pay a girl for sex.

Why am I going to Thailand?

Why don’t bar owners just run a bar as what it was to be intended as “a bar’.

Girls are required to turn up to work at such a time and knock of time is such a time, what they do outside of work hours is their business their job is to encourage drinking during work hours.

The salary offered to these girls is very low, I think some bar owners are taking the piss out of the whole system and guys will start to make their way back to discos and freelance areas.

that what i do any way, look for girls in disco's (actually i do when i'm not with my gf otherwise i am an :angel: )
at the end of the day if the bf is too high, walk away and if needed make an arrangement with the girl to avoid paying the bf.
The owners are free to charge what they want, you are free to pay or not...

The answer will be obvious if we wait long enough - either this new pricing will work, and the bars will do well, or they'll find it's not working and maybe go back to the previous pricing. Please do explain how Thai style "supply and demand" works in Thailand, if it's not the same as in the West.






Well, if I read what you're saying correctly, it's that they're making the prices so high that the girls don't get BF'd. If that's the case, they can keep raising the BF until it's so high they accomplish what they're after. Interesting way to think about it - I assumed they were just trying to get more money, but if you're right, it's a whole different story.
