Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought the whole point of this board was so that it's members could exchange information to avoid the places that rip us off, i.e. bait & switch with pictures, dirty facilities, etc, by posting information pertaining to such issues. I wish I knew about this board before my first MP experience, I could saved a lot of time & money. Because of the info I gleaned from reading the posts, I now only go to two places: HFH & IT. Never been disappointed either place.

This whole "explicit" posting, or PM me for details smacks of juvenvile locker room behaviour, much like in high school, where many girls reputations were ruined because the one lucky dork couldn't keep his mouth shut!

We all go to MP's for a variety of reasons and they provide us with an "outlet" which many of us "need". It seems that those that post explicit details must really have a bigger self-esteem problem than most of us here, and, perhaps they should address that with a qualified medical professional before posting again.

Such a difficult question to answer. If it is such a moot point why not just answer the question. You probably dont go to mps, (not that there is anything wrong with that) which gives any point you make just hearsay. I heard so and so girls got harrased. Blah blah blah.

In short there are 3 mods on this board.

but the politico's do. Everybody running for office has some "pet project" which sets them apart from the losers on the other side of the fence. Look at the Sun last week. Some school trustee gets her knickers in a knot over the "Bubba-a-Beer" ads featuring Don Cherry 'cause her little precious goes around the house singing the commercial's jingle. Since the presence of a MP offends the "sensibilities" of the god-fearing folk, and we all know the politicians pander to any special interest group who will throw a few votes their way, and since it's an election year.....well, don't expect the focus on our "hobby" to go away until after the fall elections.

Hey LE, listen up!!! Concentrate your efforts on the MP's where the girls(usually new arrivals to this country) are FORCED to work off their debts to their "sponsers(?). Stay away from the MP's where the employee's make a rational, conscious, decision to work. This is supposed to be a free country where an adult(19) can make their own decisions. Forget about the jaywalkers and illegal parkers and catch the little bastards who steal and assault those weaker than themselves, the rapists, the pedophiles, the con artists who take the money of the gullible and trusting, and those that commits horrendous crimes of violence and torture!!

Roadrunner, I agree, but having an aversion to censorship, it's not a process I want to go through. Ultimately, it would be nice if we could all take the time to seek the answers, so we have a collective and mutual understanding and can moderate ourselves, but that's just not going to happen. It's our nature to see things as we want rather than what is true.

It seems there are two camps; one that thinks it's us vs them ( hobbyists vs MP's and/ or MPA's & LE ) and one that leans more toward us vs them, as in, hobbyists and MP's vs the "authorities". That's by no means cut and dry with other variations. I think there's even a third camp where we all just want to maintain an acceptable equilibrium.

Why is this still an issue. ? Posting illegal shit is on a public board is not too bright, period.

I don't agree with many ( most ) of massageplanet.net censorship related decisions, but I do agree when the editing is related to protecting MP's / MPA's and our ( the peoples ) hobby. Unfortunately, due to different bylaws and enforcement there of, in each region, what is considered illegal, varies, which makes editing and the explanation as to the reasoning behind it tricky.

To give one example, certain lesser illegal "harmless" activities may be left alone unless they are being shoved in the "authorities" faces and then they may be forced to act. If we were getting some ultra potent dope from Sid the friendly neighbourhood drug dealer, would we want to risk cutting off that source by posting it publicly. Yes, we all know what's going on in MP's, but if people persist in their views just for the sake of being right, then it appears we do not "know what is going on". I don't claim to know all the angles ...

As for PM's, all we can do is use discretion. I don't think anyone is saying not to use PM's, but to be cautious. No doubt, it's possible to come across as a trustworthy poster when, in fact, you have another agenda, but at least through PM, as opposed to posting publicly we can use our own judgement and lessen the risks.

I'm not even sure why some people feel so strongly about wanting to post "details". Aside from the obvious reason of sharing info, with complete strangers and the world as opposed to in PM, it seems there's some bizarre need to share. Maybe it's some male bonding macho ego thing. I don't do the male bonding thing too well, unless it involves AP.

I think the "lists" are pretty useless ( not that everything need have a use ) and only do more harm than good in creating expectations, that may or may not be false or possible. How did YMMV get into this ? I'm slipping into a coma. Yeah, YMMV applies in many cases. I've experienced everything from surprise mileage that wasn't supposed to be possible ( special macho guy ), to total rejection ( ie :being the only one not to get ass DFK ... PM everyone except me for details ... eeergh. )

Why is it that some feel that we need a moderator for the MP section that goes to MP's????????

The rules, about posting, are there (in every catergory).

They are clear...........

They are concise...........

They are understandable.................

In my opinion we have one of two choices........

1) We either follow the rules that Fred has put down and continue to use the board for our benefit..........or......

2) We constantly violate those rules and either get blocked, permantely, or the board goes under and we all lose.......

Personally I do not see why the moderator for each topic needs to be an individual who partakes of those services. The rules do not vary frfom one topic to another.

As someone who has done a turn as a moderator let me state that it is difficult, very often time consuming, unpaid (in both cash and discounted services), but most of all it is unappreciative.

For those of you who are complaining about the moderators, consider this scenario............

A new MP opens up............you decided you are going to give it a try.............You end up with the most amazing session ever, full service, MSOG, and finished with a BBBJTC..................

Of course you leave realizing you've hit a gold mine.........

You race home to your PC, post a review outlining EVERYTHING

Two weeks later you go back looking for some more........

You will either find it closed, or it will end up getting raided while your there..............

Long and short of everything...............

Hate to be one of the many responsible for making this long-winded thread even longer. The more I read of what other thinks, the more confusing it gets. The ultimate question is still, why do the moderators want the posters to use even more creative languages than what they already are?

Without question, info on this board should not stand up in the court for any kind of conviction, unless some incriminating information posted here can be verified.

My understanding is this board, as it stands, is a service-oriented business. It provides a foroum to exchange information. That means some body must be paying for it because the massageplanet.netites don't directly. Well, anything that negatively affects the sponsors in their profits (or other issues) will not be well tolerated.

Examples include negative reviews resulting in loss business or threat of business loss;

Any information allowing LE to proceed with activities interferring with day to day "peaceful" operations of the establishments and/or clients' sense of safety is also not welcome. A very simple example would be sight of police cars parked outside an establishment - didn't many say that that alone deterred them from going in, at least on that day? LE can in fact do many other things that makes things a bit more difficult than you like. No one wants to hear the sound of LE entering an MP even just to ask questions.

So, although info from massageplanet.net won't be used to incriminate in court, they can easily be used help LE to target specific establishments. As i have said earlier, the moderators have more specific info as to how things written can be used by the LE and how this would affect business. The question is how to convey this to the massageplanet.netites so people can change the way they write accordingly. Who knows, may be the moderators do have a point.

ps Regarding the word censorship, I am a bit unclear whether massageplanet.netites have the right to complain about censorship.

There's no doubt this has an influence on decisions, but those who have been on massageplanet.net for sometime will have a good idea of which establishments use this influence and which welcome objective negative feedback. Here lies the crux. The problem is that some members do not trust the moderating teams motives and / or reliability and may not even accept the reasoning if they heard it directly from the horses mouths, so to speak. It seems those who think massageplanet.net info is of no use to the "authorities" don't have much conception of bylaws and politics.

Somehow the mods and MP owners have to get things straight between themselves and then convey both the reasoning and what is expected so that things can be kept as balanced as possible.

I, like many others, who have taken the trouble to find out, am aware of the reasoning behind the recent enforcement of, so called, censorship and understand it, but do not feel it's my right or place to convey it. I also have an idea of what is acceptable within different regions, so feel at odds with the blanket rules applying to reviews, even though I'm sure it's easier that way.

Don't feel bad about making this "long winded" Roadrunner. It's the only way to hopefully reach some sort of conclusion.

Very good point iam0234. This said, still not clear where to draw the line even if massageplanet.netites all agree to tone down.
One way that might work is this:

massageplanet.netites tone down the detail progressively and the moderators continue their intensive monitoring and editing. Whenever anything gets edited, a simple explanation will be pm'd to the poster. This way the poster would know he/she is still this much over the cut point and will try toning down a notch more next time. So eventually, majority of the contributions will fall below the axe line.

What we don't know is whether what remains will be useful for anyone.

Regarding the "posts alluding to illegal activities":

What I meant by that statement is statements like "even though I was not hungry, I found myself unable to resist dining" or "she guided my love rocket to her honey-hole", obviously referring to DATY and FS. Other forms of creative writing is still encouraged, obviously.

Regarding LE printing out our reviews:

I never said that LE would use massageplanet.net printouts in a court situation. However, with hundreds of MP's in the GTA, it sure gives them a place to focus their investigation knowing that spa A has absolutely no mention of extras, while spa B continually has multiple postings of BJ and FS available. As well, whether LE actually uses this information at this moment is unimportant. I've used the analogy of hurtling down the 401 at 160 km/h. You may not get caught now, but if there's a cop over the next rise, your screwed. And you can't use the defense that you have been doing it for miles and miles and were never hassled before.

Regarding my MP history:

Yes, I've never been to an MP in the GTA. I live in London. But, as I said to 2sexxxy, that shouldn't have a bearing on my moderating. The fact is I know what the line of illegality is, I know what massageplanet.net's rules are, and Fred has entrusted me with moderator status in that regard.

Regarding those who would rather post any and all details:

Those of you who think tbill is the saviour of the sex industry in Toronto, give your head a shake. Posting details (as many veteran hobbyists agree) will do nothing but hinder the industry.
