I actually had a look yesterday and must say, very nice rooms. Although I liked the ones with the small balcony best as it had more space (had room for a sofa). It also looked more private. I’m gonna try stay there for one night (600 baht) on Saturday and see how the ADSL holds up.

They quoted me 12.000 per month, but still: Free electric, cable, internet and just a short stroll down to Bangla. Worth a second look IMO.

Oh, I also had a look at the other guesthouses on the same soi, but Ferb was the better one.

Yes Ferb guesthouse...I have booked a room with balcony from September and please let me know how the ADSL is working....Well you got it 1000thb cheaper than me but i´m still very pleased with the price.And the location is perfect for me...

I think this thread has gone off topic now, but oh well. No one really cares i'm sure. WOW 120k/month for a whole year.... well i recognize you said almost a whole year but thats nearly US$38,000... I guess its not that much considering you would have really enjoyed yourself for a whole year... Were you in Phuket that whole time..??? You can't tell me it didn't get old after at least/most 6 months... I would have gone to bangkok and chaing mai as well..

I too like Syeatman would not be in the bar unless I could buy myself and perhaps a few others as well unless it was stinky hot outside and I just wanted to cool off and take a cold one down. Thus I personally would not accept any of the Bg's food unless I knew them very very well. Like I know some very well and not accepting a food offering may offend them. but if I did not know them well, then I wouldn't think of it.

When i go on vacation I always try to plan to have good time which means sometimes I may go over board when buying drinks and pay for it next day when I check my wallet.:

it was when alot of bm's were living there. just in wet willy's alone we had me, geespot, robb who owned it, rj who worked for robb, gson, and a few strays. with LIL coming up for all day sessions. it was really fun

i did alot of side trips(cambodia, hua hin, pattaya, samui) and i went back to the states about once every 3 months for a few weeks. i was definitely good for 120k/mo, thats including my rent and motorbike

Yes, well Dodge and son put me on to them, blue things, you may remember the suai poo ying I found at another bar that made Pim there at the Mai Thai a bit moohaw ( cranky?...) but they made me get a bit of a sweat/headrush, and I felt unwell so i just had to go back to eroticismmmmmmmm, cha cha nah?

I spent 5 nights in Patong in July and every night was spent at MTB. However, i did not ring the bell once but I drank the drinks offered to me when someone else rang the bell. Cheap Charlie?. I decided not to ring the bell but instead I bought the ladies drinks. I assume in those 5 nights by total bill amounted to around 18000-20000 baht. Since I mostly drank Tiger beer, except for the odd tequila my part of that bill was probably no more than 25%. The rest went to the ladies working there. I figured they deserved it more than fellow board members :embrassed But I did get a few of the ladies there quite drunk on tequila and I hope that was to the benefit of a few of you later in the evening one way or the other :what:

I rang the bell a couple of times at the MTB.I don't drink a lot back home,or in LOS sometimes:embrassed so it was a bit of a novelty for me plus I knew most of the people I was buying drinks for.Hey,got a free MTB T shirt too.

When I was at the MTB there was always a LOT of bell ringing,so I certainly got my share of free drinks(even when I was trying to avoid them!) so I didn't mind giving back a little.

If I picked up a girl in a bar,and I didn't know anyone else there,I might buy the staff a drink so my girl gains face,but probably not rounds for strangers.

Usually if I'm throwing around money it's going directly into my date's pocket as a big tip.

As of 2 nights ago I will no longer be buying groups of bg's ladydrinks, like I have been doing in the past.
I was at a bar which shall remain unnamed & was sitting alone with one or 2 bg's hanging around...I got the old "you buy me tequila" line on a couple of occasions to which I declined their offers.
After an hour or so, the feeling in the bar was a bit flat, so I decided to buy 7 of the girls the tequila shots.......All was well when they toasted their glasses chok dee etc etc.......Then no sooner as they had swallowed the drinks they all walked away from me & left me sitting there alone like a pork chop in a synagogue.....I sat there in amazement at what had just happened for 5 mins then decided to check out of that bar.
I will still buy a bg a drink, no problems...but as for groups they can go & get emselves fvcked.....I'm still a walking ATM machine..............But not for them.
