Makes me wonder how you "non-supportive" BM's would feel if you found out that a person who you saw getting the excrement kicked out of him, ended up dying as a result of it. Wouldn't you feel at all guilty that you could have helped or at least tried to intervene and prevent more damage. Certainly would play on my conscience....

I agree, I dont see Thai guys ganging up on someone without a reason either, unlike Sweden where unprovocated violence is much more common in my experience.

I would recommend to stay out of trouble in first place, those I have seen getting a beating were aggressive themselves.

i think you should, but i have also seen a guy sit there and watch his gf get into a fight and not even try to step in and break it up, saying its a thai thing so they should handle it. i thought that was pathetic.


another time at MTB, Kwan went after another staff member with a knife and nobody did anything, including all the MTB staff. it took Allie and me and someone else to pry the knife away from her

in none of these situations would i expect people to join in to fight, but all of them could have used some mediation and people trying to stop it

so, there are a few instances in LOS where i have seen BM's sit there and do nothing. to answer your question

Training numerous times a week and sparring, keeping fit, boxing whatever will sure help you, but nothing prepares anyone for a bar brawl or a street fight.....its a totally different story which is based on mind set not physical attributes. When someones adrenelin kicks in there is no justification or reasoning behind they're actions, even the person themselves wont know what they've done.....it really is scary what the human body is capable of when provoked and that is where this subject is so diversified as everyone has completely different limitations and fuse lengths.....

I think you are reading way too far into this.

Those that seem most ready to 'come to the rescue' are no doubt very similar to those same individuals getting into 'these' types of fights.

The video doesn't seem to show what the farang guy did in the first place, could have been something really bad.

Way too many people come here thinking there aren't any rules, its Patong. Well there are, normal rules - If you acted like a dickhead in any major nightspot around the world you may end up with a kicking.

Reverse the situation, 10 skinheads roughing up someone down a dark alley, 30 more skinheads around the corner, you still gonna weigh in?

again, i am not being a hard guy, but where i grew up, people fought. we may have all been idiots but that was the fact and you get a certain willingness(for lack of a better word) to fight where I know people who never been in a fight in their life but wouldnt consider them wussies
it is just how you grew up, i guess

to be honest, half the battle of street fighting is to have the will to do it and being the most aggressive because a lot of people don't really want to fight

again, this not saying I am some great fighter or even that it is right, it is just what i have seen living in an area that people tended to fight a lot

england is prob the worse for this kind of thing, i have been out in town and seen many a foreign guy mouth off then get jumped by alot of people. ive even seen it happen to girls on alot worse scale than the videos in this thread

actually i think more guys should stand up to this weasels and you wouldn't have as many of these gang ups
that is the only reason they do all this gang up shit is because everyone is afraid of that
try it, stand up to them, believe me, they aren't as tough then

now i don't know the particulars of this fight and who is right and wrong but even when standing up to thai guys, maybe not in an enclosed bar when you are trapped in there is such a good idea!!

Comparing this issue with a gang of skinheads is apples and oranges. They are a some what organised gang that look for fights.

If a Farang happens to get in a fight with a Thai whether they are right or wrong, it's got to eat away at your sense of justice to watch while he's getting kicked in the head when already down and beaten.

My point is that to not have the same done to you, you have to let it happen. Like when the Nazi's herded the Polish Jews to the labor camps and the non-Jews were helpless to interfere for fear of the same fate.

there is no reason whatsoever for anybody, regardless of race, to gang up on one guy, especially when they are not even involved in the dispute

now, i do agree that most times, it is the farangs fault that a fight is started in the 1st place but it still doesn't warrant 5 guys throwing sucker punches or kicking a guy when he is down
