This made me have a little chuckle about the Italian.
Yesterday my GF. told me a story that I thought very funny.
Her roomate was picked up by an Italian guy ijn Taipan on tuesday night. He agreed 2k. for the night but told her he couldn't take her to his hotel as they didn't allow guests, so he rented a room for one night, somewhere on Rat-U-Thit. At 9 In the the morning she woke up to see him dressed and about to go out the door. She asked him "what you do". He told her he was going to the shop to buy cigarettes and would be back in 10 minutes.
Needless to say he never returned and of course he hadn't paid her.
What he hadn't realised was that he had left his "pairng mak mak" mobile phone in the room. .
She says her friend has already sold the phone to a shop for 6k. and won't be going into Taipan for a couple of weeks.

I'll second that.
Some guys seem to think that haggling a bg. down on price is something to be proud of.
If a girl will go with you for less than 1k.for LT. It's because she's desperate.
Don't some of you guy's ever consider that she maybe hasn't had a decent meal for a few days and just maybe, she is desperate to collect enough money together to pay her share of her rent for the next month.
You see these girls in the bar laughing and joking with the customers. Don't you ever consider that in a lot of cases it's all a front and that inside their worried sick where the next days food is coming from or how they are going to send a little home for their kid's keep, or moms visit to the doctor. NO JOKES PLEASE.

If you read a few Postings back on this Thread, you will see that I have conceded that I was obviously out of touch with the current rates for BF's and BG's!

I also said that I was happy to meet these current rates when I finally arrive in Patong. I agree with some postings, that if you are on a budget that prevents some flexibility in these matters, then you are better-off staying at home.
