Unfortunately, if Israel became a pure democracy, within a few elections there would be an Arab majority government, and I think we all know what would happen to Jewish Israeli citizens' rights if that were to happen.

Look on Wikipedia for the population of Jews and Christians in Muslim countries, how they have diminished since 1948, and how both Jews and Christians are treated in Muslim countries today...

The scale of GDP loss caused by two plus years of lockdown was absolutely massive. The border issue had some short-term impact in terms of lost GDP, but by comparison, it was minuscule.

Your point is definitely valid but a it won't help since such a theocracy would be an apartheid society that would be non-viable on a long run. As Arafat said many years ago, the Palestinian cause will prevail due to the Palestinian woman uterus.
Not an easy solution, esp. on the short term...I still think the moderate factions on both sides should engage in finding acceptable solutions on long term. Can these factions win majority support? Hard to say.

I would support a 2 state solution with all Muslim countries agreeing to Israel's right to exist as a Jewish theocracy, and the Palestinians being given back a reasonable amount of land with natural resources and livable borders.

But with Hamas and Bibi in power on each side that won't happen, not to mention all the other Arab countries that want to annihilate us...

If your family suffers atrocities the ones who did it are the bad guys. Tom Clancy had the idea of having a neutral third party referee a brokered two state solution. His idea was to use the Swiss Guards. While using the Swiss as referees may sound ridiculous, the sentiment makes more sense to me than any other ideas being offered.

You're not thinking that what the protesters were stating is that Canada doesn't want to do business with the rest of the world by the embarrassing act of blocking the most significant border crossing in the world. If you don't want to trade with the rest of the world, then we might as well be Nicaragua. If I was Prime Minister, the Armed Forces would have dragged these people out after the first hour of the border blockade, and send them to prison, no questions asked.

Yes it’s possible, but it depends what Israel wants, since they have the upper hand, both militarily and the support they have from the western countries particularly the US.

If the US wants this to end, they can but most politicians in the US will not dare to challenge Israel due to the heavy influence of the Jews Americans and their long lobbying arms.

The ultra right governing Israel for the past 20 plus years reversed all progress made in Oslo accord and they will just want the Palestinian leave their homes (exiled) in the millions of them so they can have the Jews state to themselves (that’s the only reasonable conclusion that I have come to believe). And the escalation of the bombing is to force 1 million plus Palestinians into exile to Egypt and Jordan and other Arab states, similar to those 3 million that were exiled during the 60s.

Note: this does not justify the Hamas killing of innocent people.

No, not those who were with the microphone with good English, other ones - who get here, and those who were talking in Arabick who knows what.

I don't see the difference between ISIS wiped out and Hamas. Both beheaded and raped and burned people live powerless. ISIS for religious reasons mostly (as far as I read), Hamas for political reasons.

The whole region needs a referee in place for a couple of peaceful and prosperous generations. Unfortunately I do not see a way for that to happen. Now would be a good time for righteous aliens, or God or mega AI to show up. Since that will not happen, history will keep repeating but with more and more sophisticated weapons, tactics and information warfare. The ultimate winners will have as their prize a pile of rubble and a despicable legacy.

Things may be about to get tense in reaction to what is going on on Israel and Gaza. Threats have already been made at a Hebrew school in Toronto. It is a good time to keep a low profile.
