Cameras in Massage Parlours

Hi,
Just wondering since a group of us will be visiting montreal again. Last year, while at Salon Dor, I found out they had camera's in each room. In each room, there was a outdoor light fixture mounted to the ceiling above the table with what looked like no bulb in it. Upon reaching up to it I realized that the "no bulb" was actually tinted glass.
I mentioned something to the girl but she chauked it up to not understanding my english.
So, before i left the building I was waiting for taxi and started looking around the front lobby. The owners office is connected right to the waiting room and sure enough, inside his office to the right hand side was a stereo rack with vcr and camera monitor.
There was a black drape that was covering part of it but it was obvious.

So my question is not whether or not there are camera's because I am 100% sure that it was(somewhat in the industry myself, which is probably why I was looking for it in the first place),
but is this normal is all salons?

I personally tend to scan rooms that I am in to see if there is anything out of the ordinary, such as small holes, out of place fixtures, etc. I have more than once found a small hole in walls with edges of matchbooks stuffed in them from some other paranoid person.

Just like certain strip clubs, I am certain there are some MPs that have set up cameras and are peeping in on their staff. I wouldn't entirely be surprised if it was to extract a certain number of dollars from the girls for extras! I don't think a salon operator would be stupid enough to record potential illegal acts, as that would show clear indications that they are aware of sexual acts going on in their estabilshment, which is one of the key requirements of being charged for operated a bawdy house.

Potentially a police operation? Checking what people are asking for, maybe cracking down on people specifically asking for full service?

Every once in a while, someone claims to have seen a camera in an MP. I can understand why they might have one up front, like every other retail establishment, say at the front desk or cash area, for protection and safety reasons. We have read about armed robberies at one or two salons in the past, so it stands to reason.

But what I am wondering about is has anyone 100% confirmed that there are cameras in the rooms, and what do you think the establishment does with the video footage the presumably record.

It makes no sense to me that an MP would have cameras or recordings of the activities in the rooms, since it could be used as evidence.

What do you think it is for? Blackmail? Aren't there far better ways to blackmail someone?

I've been to my fair share of MPs and never seen one, and I think this is all an urban legend.

Can't speak for Montreal but the logic is the same as it is in Toronto. There is no chance there are cameras inside the rooms. At any MP. Lots in the halls but none in the rooms.

Ok let me make this very clear for all of you....

I worked for over 8 years in Security cameras (Installing and selling) and let me tell you that many of the MP have cameras in their rooms. Not all of them, but MANY of them. And just because you don't SEE them this don't mean that there is no cameras in the room. You never heard about "hidden spy cameras" ? Cameras can be in a clock, in a flower basket, in a mirror.. etc. But let me tell you this, since I already went to a massage place to install cameras (before the opening of the MP) and all the cameras that we installed in the rooms were pinholes cameras. Its behind the wall and there is only a little hole (pinhole) for the camera to see. So... you can't see them just like this cause a mini hole in the upper corner of a wall you can't see this.

When I asked to the manager why he wanted cameras in the room he said that it was to protect the girls in case someone attack them or something like that. But personnaly this is just bullshit and just a way to hide the real reason : VOYEURISM!

Why that? Cause all the cameras were plugged in a Network DVR so the manager could watch all the actions from his home...

This is a bit like the cameras in strip club, many strip club have cameras that see in the booth and most of the time is just for the manager to have good video to see... lol

I was about to take the opposite view from Equanimity when I came across your post. This is no surprise at all. Remember when ESPNs Erin Andrews ended up on the internet. All it takes is someone with the will and access to the rooms; and not necessarily with the expertise of Dragonatic or your professional equipment. Yes, in spite of regulations, laws, and standards of social decencies, given human nature it just figures from the odds that there is someone in the right position who wants to exploit these rooms for there own purpose, whether it's private enjoyment or profits. Is it possible an MP or hotel visitor could end up on some "Caught On Camera" shoddy video peep show somewhere? Absolutely. As you can see, they can look like anything.

So what will you do? Stop seeing MPs or quit the hobby? Not likely.

Well, like you said merlot, hotel is another good place for hidden cameras. When I go to a motel room I always have this little "paranoiak" attitude for the 5 first minutes I'm in thinking "is there any spy cameras in there?" but after 5minutes I'm ok, I think thats not possible..... Well, I THINK that its ok lol

But I have to admit it would be nice to have a view of all the rooms in a motel to look the couples having sex lolllll

What city was that Dragonatic ? Sorry don't buy the voyeurism motive. Who is the voyeur? The male MP owner/manager who never sees the staff naked ? Or perhaps he gets off on seeing guys with little dicks cum? Or the female MP/owner manager who really gets off on naked overweight middleaged men ? Perhaps the girls with no clients all sit around the TV watching the busy girls 'cause they don't get to see enough of it when they are doing it. Hard to believe. This subject has been discussed extensively on massageplanet.net over the years - always with the same conclusion, no cameras. I've had services given to me in Toronto MP's that are not allowed and would have gotten the girl fired so I believe them when they say no cameras in here. When I first started going I asked a lot because I was paranoid. Not one girl said there were cameras. They've told me all sorts of stuff complaining about their boss, other girls etc etc. but not said there were cameras. You just wouldn't be in business for long if it ever got out so it's not worth the risk.

Again I'm speaking about Toronto but I find it difficult to believe it would be different here. If a greater authority on the subject is required I suggest you ask Shiek. He is familiar with the topic.

BTW when in Toronto, I live downtown I go to MP's , when in Montreal I see escorts.

In some salons the girls are allowed to offer some options but there are activities that are not allowed because it may bring heat from the LE. The other reason she told me was that some of the doormen / bouncers are not the owners of the salon and are placed there by third parties. The girls have to give the doorman a percentage of every option they preform.

We are in montreal man, not toronto. Like I said, since I worked for 8 years in security cameras I CAN TELL YOU that there is cameras... You don't read my post? I already installed cameras in a MP and not just for one....

If you don't believe it then its your choice, I'm not there to scary you I'm just telling what I know since its something I have done. Maybe the voyeurism is not the main reason but for most of it yes it it. The owner like to see prety girls doing HJ to guys....

Well... like you said, you are talking about toronto's MP and I'm talking about montreal's MP. We should not even talk about it....

In my 8 years of career in the security cameras I knew/saw/installed many cameras where I never thought it would be possible to have one there..... And with the micro-spy cam these days, let me tell you that there is cameras where you don't even think about it..

I believe you when you say you could make it so it would be impossible to detect. Never been to a massage parlour in Mtl but from what you are saying they must be managed by some fairly scuzzy folks if they get off on this. Hard to understand after all these years why a specific case has not leaked.
Put me down as sceptical.

Thanks YVA for starting a thread that probably many of us eforum.xxxites who visit MP's have wondered about one time or another. Dragonatic, so you say that some places have installed cameras that clients can't see, many installed by yourself. As you say, the cameras are small enough to go anywhere and as a horny client waiting for your MT, eager to bust a nut, who's gonna spend the time visually checking to see if one is in your room.

Question: Given that you're in the business and seem to be in the know Dragonatic, care to share whether there's hand-held gadgets out there that can detect these cameras?

I detected a 2 way mirror in a massage salon. Sometimes they mount a camera behind a 2 way mirror or some dark smoked glass.

Well, I will just clear this thing since I'm in this business. There is 3 ways that an MP can put hidden cameras in their rooms :

1- Behind a 2 way mirror

2- Behing the wall or celling with a pinhole

3- Fake objects with camera already in it (fake clock, fake kleenex box, fake flowers or decoration items..)

Most of the MPs will use the first method, behind a 2 way mirror. You can't really detect it since there is no room the other side of the mirror like in police station. If it would be the case, you just put a flashlight in front of it (1 or 2 inch of the mirror) and you can see a little bit the other side. What they do is just put the 2 way mirror on the wall and drill a hole in the wall behind the 2 way mirror to put the camera lense and thats it. This hole is like a piece of 10cent. The rest of the back of the 2 way mirror is just black, since there is nothing behind the walls.

If no mirror use, they will use the 2nd method, a pinhole in a wall or celling. The hole is so minus that you can't see it.

For the last method, the "fake object" well, this is not really used for 2 reasons : Its very expensive (like 300$ to 500$ for one camera) and most of these fake object use wireless cameras and wireless signal sucks. Some could hack the signal, and theere is too interference. BUT sometimes they use it only with the "fake clock", its wired so its ok...

Now, if you really want to try to detect them, well, I never used it but my co-workers told me that it work great. So you can use this "spy camera detector" here : http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/sf-103.html (look the videos demo, its pretty cool).
