Technically, we did not "help" for voyeurism, but to "protect the girls" like the owner said. So my boss can just say "The owner wanted cameras to protect the girls, thats what we did". Its not our fault if the owner used these footage for voyeurism. We installed them for what it was asked by the owner. And even if the cameras are found by someone and they get busted, the owner will have some problems since there is no notices of hidden cameras in the room. THATS IT! You really think they will search for the company that did this like 10 years later and to go to EACH workers that where on this contract? Even if its the case, well, the PDG of the company (my boss..) will get sued for allowing his employees to put hidden cameras for illegal use. You think that all the people that worked on this contract to install the cameras will get in troubles? LOL The only one that can be in trouble is the manager of the contract, wich was my boss.

I don't think it is a real good idea to be discussing admitted criminal conduct on a public board regardless of the hypothetical possibilities of you or your boss being charged. Certainly such discussions enhance whatever small chance there is of a prosecution.

In the other cases I mentioned I am sure the perps never thought they would get charged either. In most of the criminal cases I have handled the client did not believe he/she would be charged. That is why criminals are stupid and need attorneys.

I doubt you will have a problem but don't increase the chance that something willl happen by talking about it. That is why those boys who filmed the girls in the shower got charged - they bragged.

Do you see any mention in the criminal code of getting sued? No. It does mention time in prison. The excuse 'I was only following orders' won't help you, by the way, but good luck with that. I'm sure it'll be a nice topic of discussion in the yard.

Then tell my why there is a motel owner that got busted for putting spy cameras in his motel rooms without going in prison? He put a spy cam in all the rooms and he only get sued for like 25 000$ I think. This was at TVA and in the Journal de Montreal few years ago..

Anyway... we could talk about it for days and days again and we will never reach the same level/opinion...

There is a NRP on the second place you are mentionning.

The ones having cameras have them at the entrance and back door as any other legit business.

The places that have cameras in the rooms do not record anything,that would be illegal,they have a monitor at reception desk for direct security only.I remember the "Pussycat""Octopussy" and others
Others have some on VCR,directed on desk and outside some areas like downtown east-end salon for security again...like any legitimate store/business,accomodation stores,spas and more.

By the way,even legitimate,(with legal statute,city permits),businesses have no rights to put cameras in bathrooms or changing rooms,and as far as criminal code goes:i would think the massage room would cease to be "private"if monitored and recorded...I remember the pussycat cameras directed on the ladies only, not on the customer,as in any other live shows/ peep places in america.And they were NOT recording only monitoring(you can find all these infos and more in legal documents,these court cases lasted for years...).I know of one salon owner downtown Mtl telling me once,that one way to assure himself that the girls would not go too far,was to pretend he could watch them...

There are 2 legitimate reasons to have cameras at the entrance of a massage parlour: security and money count (the only way for the owner to balance the money deposited by the receptionist with the number of costumers). Most MPs have those cameras and most wont deny it if asked.

There is no rational for having them in the rooms, neither for security reasons (it could not be used as evidence in court and they are not a deterrent if people do not know they are there ) nor moneywise (MPs do not take cuts on extras).

Of course not all people act on legitimate or rational decisions. So it would come as no surprise that a few MPs have cameras in their rooms. I don’t question the fact that dragonatic may have installed spying cameras in the rooms of one MP. But suggesting, as he did, that 35-40% and even more have them to satisfy the voyeurism fantasy of their owners (the only reason he finds for having them) is a bit ridiculous.

A question for naturalbeauty: did you know there were cameras at these places when you worked there or did you discover that afterwards? How were you informed? I ask that because all masseuses I know would refuse to work in such a place for personal privacy reasons and the huge increase risk of an eventual LE operation.

It is illegal to record anybody in a private place without their consent.So if the place is "legit" with permits and all,you can be sure that if there was cameras and recording in the rooms,private places by definition,they would have to post a sign very visible in each room,in both official languages or have each client and attendant sign a document to that effect in advance...
So stop digging for dirt on salon owners and spreading paranoia.No salon(or at least legal ones)is filming you,naked or not,in private massage rooms.Period.
And Naturalbeauty,you seem very keen on finding faults in other salons...you should be more concerned by the legal standing of the one you presently work at...

I seem to remember reading in the last 6 months reading about a new federal privacy agency that has been set up to deal with privacy on the internet and security cameras. There was some mention in the article about video at convenience stores can only be kept for no more than 30 days and locations of cameras can only be place in public locations like lobbies, counter areas or places where the public has access.

I don't work there anymore or any other place for that matter I was just sayin that these places do film and record in the rooms I was simply adding to a thread no need to get all huffy! And FYI LND doesn't have cameras in the room but like a legit business it does have them in the front and back.

I will certainly avoid LND in the future city license and FS, plus having cameras to record clients going in and out....I do not want to end up on the wrong side of the bench...very embarassing for a man my age...
And i wonder why you keep trying to put Platinium and *** in trouble,i know the owners by trade (as in the case of 4 other salons in Montreal) and i can certify that no filming of anything whatsoever is being done there. May be you are a disgruntled employee fired for offering certain extras?...

U have the right to think whatever ud like but I left on good terms with both those places..... So it's not that I want them to get in trouble I'm just letting people know what I've seen with my own eyes as an employee
