Foot charts

I can't get along with foot charts! I find that when I've given a treatment I just fill in my little table with my findings and observations using actual words, rather than doodling all over the picture of the foot. I know we have to keep good records etc and apart from filling in the foot charts I believe I do a good job. Is this wicked and will I get drummed out of my profession and generally run out of town?

oooh drummed out of town - well me & you both ..although i must admit i do use my foot charts a lot - but everything else - usually drummed out of town for teee heeeeeeeee
If you think you're doing a good job then i bet you're doing a great one
and as its you who reads the records -I'd say - in most humble opinion of course - do what very is best for you !!

If i could get my backside into gear & use my digi cam I wouldnt need to do my foot charts !!!
I must say though i do find them useful - plus by the time i sorted camera out & downloaded onto pc etc - simple cooured pencils, crosshatch shading takes 2 minss ! Plus when comparing peeps ..its amazing how many colours, swellings, lumps, oedema, lines etc correspond to specific ailments
quick glance & much info is absorbed.

The ONLY time I use a foot chart is during the initial inspection of the feet at the first consultation. After that I just use written words on a consultation form that we designed.

My wife never uses foot charts preferring to describe conditions ofd the feet and reactions to treatment.

So, it looks as though your drummer is out of a job

i use foot charts for the first consultation and an adapted follow up sheet that has feet on them for me to update with anything, especially for the first few treatments.

if there are no specific changes, usually after treating someone ongoing, i just write notes about significances.

the idea of good notes, imo, is so when they change therapists or you go on holiday, the client could take their notes to another therapist. i have no idea if this ever happens... and if it did, i wonder if i still wouldnt want to do my own initial consult.

Well, just for the record, I was never even taught to use footcharts.
