Hi guys....great forum.....read a hell lot of msgs in here....very informative.

we're 4 guys coming into patong on 27 dec for a week.
just need to make contact with members in this forum so we can meet up for a drink...pls advice which bars are great?

i realised some of the information was from 2003 so may not be valid now.

can you pls suggest which bars and agogos have the stunners??

we shall be staying at novotel....does anybody know if there is a joiner fee at this hotel? how far is this hotel from bangla rd?

if the hotel does charge us a joiner fee what other options do we have? i read c&n is good....anybody know if we shall be able to get 3 beds in the middle of the night and how much wud it cost?

how is christin's? is this a MP or do they provide extras too?

really looking forward to havin' a shagadellic time!!!

When you come from the beach and you walk Bangla Road until the end, then you cross the street and there (sort of prolongation from Bangla) you will find a lot of short-time hotels.

I'm not sure but Novotel is a quite fancy chain of hotels, so I guess you will have to pay joiner fee.

any idea on the hotel rates for ST or do they just charge per night?

WHEN YOU PULL A BG .SHE WILL KNOW WHAT ST HOTELS TO GO TO.......USUALLY AROUND 500 BAHT...........

Plenty Of Partys In Patong On New Years.you Just Gotta Know Where To Go As For A Gang Bang On The Beach.......
I Wouldnt Recomend It.......if Its Safety You Are Looking For .do Not Go To The Beach After Sun Fall.its Very Dangerous.......

Happened to me once and was a nightmare..hardly spoke any english.
In the bar i asked her if she knew any hotels for short time - ''yes hotel - i know where'' ''Ok we go now i pay bar for you''

Start walking a little - ''where is the hotel you know of ?'' I ask
''Yes hotel good'' she replied - 10 mins of walking ''is the hotel this way?''
''Yes hotel'' she replied - another 10 mins walking ''so are you taking me to a hotel we can get room for s/t ?'' I ask - ''yes we go hotel now'' she replied.
Another few steps and i think fcuk this and ask a tuk tuk man, he took me straight to one without hassle but this highlights that communication can be a real pain sometimes.
My tip ....if you get a lady who seems new to the scene and you want a s/t room, get the info off the older ladies or papasan/mamasan 1st - also a good idea that they speak to the girl too and give her directions of you don't know where it is yourself.

Patong is very safe, even Soi Sansabai, where I have found drunk farangswith attitude to be more of a danger than any Thais. the relative safety of LOS,even in the red light districts is one of the things that makes it such an attractive place for us wh*remongers.

It is dark along the beach at night, and that is where the ugly LBs, who probably couldn't get a job in a bar, hang out, like vampires in the night. Sometimes other shady characters. too. But it is not a "give me your money or I'll punch, stab, or shoot you" type of situation. It is more like aggressive soliciting, which I have heard on occasion can take the form of LBs jostling you, i.e, one gives you a hug while the other picks your pocket.

Of course, if you're alone, can't walk straight, can't talk sense, etc., it has been known to result in a bottle over the back of the head, wake up later with a headache and an empty wallet. Happened to one BM this year. But if you are that drunk, that could happen just about anywhere.

But even though Thais are normally very polite, and friendly. Don't think they are wimps, because if you get in a fight, then you will be in for a big surprise.
Always be polite, never provoke a fight!

As for parties on NY's eve. All of Bangla Road and sidestreet sois are a party!

soi sansabai is safe,very well known road where many people end up drinking out of mugs.as for st hotels as johnny said ask the girls but if you wanna no some,there is one at end of soi easy,600 baht for 3 hours if i recall correct and also in soi seadragon,cannot remember price there.

Nah, no entrance fees, and no need to book, but be prepared to pay double or treble the fare for a tuk-tuk

Hi BB. That one made me laugh. It's a bit off topic but it reminded me of one time in Kerala when I asked a bloke for directions. It's something you should never do in Kerala, apparently, because even if they don't know, they don't want to appear rude or stupid, so they'll tell you anything. He hardly spoke English but he indicated that he'd show me the way. We set off walking - and walked for ****ing hours! The sun went down. I was getting exasperated. We walked through this little village (which was weird, because we'd started out in a fairly big town). Then, half an hour later, we walked through the same village, but from the opposite direction! Doh!

I gave up and got a taxi. It cost a fortune but if I hadn't done it we might still be walking now.
