Can't find anything wrong with the way 11 expressed his opinion. I suppose he can express it freely like you do.
Must say I tend more to his opinion. Bars may open earlier but personally I only visit them after dinner, so make that around 2200. Still enough time to fill up before going to bed.

I've shown 11's post above, can't see whats actually wrong with what he posted, in fact I'd agree whole heartedly, but there again I'd agree after your very rude sarcastic post that your own analysis in bold, is probably also correct.

Police enforcing laws blows- which laws in your own country do you not like Kheemao? Without discipline there is no society- without society there is no drink, no girls amd no other excesses. I support the rule of law in any country no matter how we may or may not think it sucks. If 2 am is too early, why not go out an hour earlier- its not rocket science.no:

Wish it could be both ways. I like bars closing earlier because everywhere gets going earlier. But I really don't like the chaos a 2am forced closing causes.

Yeh, but when the Law is the "exception" rather than the "rule", where does that leave you? Strict adherence OR strict enforcement is needed in your example... It's not that 2AM is too early or too late, it's the abrupt nature of things shutting down out of nowhere, when it wasn't expected that causes the confusion of how to plan your nights out... even if you plan as you go...

but when your only goal is not acquiring your pick of the night as soon as possible, the later the better

i always find that i am scrambling to get ready in time to make it out by 10pm, and that is usually to go to dinner then the bars
in the day, i like to drive around on the scooter, maybe a few beers late afternoon somewhere( and that is where i usually lose the time), usually small shopping at dusk and back to the hotel to rest up a bit

Gov gets tough on bars, violence and encroachment

PHUKET CITY: Phuket Governor Niran Kalayanamit has ordered police to continue their crackdown on bars in Patong opening after hours, saying that there were no exceptions in the law for “tourist provinces”.

At the Phuket Provincial Security Committee’s monthly meeting at the Thavorn Grand Plaza Hotel on Tuesday, Phuket Provincial Police Commander Maj Gen Decha Budnampeth asked the Governor to clarify the province’s stance on the crackdown.

“I would like to know what provincial policy on the issue is because I’m sure that if we wanted to we could put a stop to all the entertainment venues that are breaking the law, but I’m worried that it could destroy the atmosphere in Patong.

“If I don’t take action, then police from Bangkok will come here and make arrests, and I will be the first one to be blamed,” Gen Decha said.

“Some entertainment venues don’t even have entertainment licenses, they have only licenses to sell alcohol off site. There are also venues that close at 1 am when the police are around then open again at 4 am or 5 am when police aren’t around. In fact we know who the owners of most of the places are but they continue to open illegally,” he added.

Gov Niran replied, “We have to enforce the law. If we do not we ourselves may get in trouble. There is no clause in the law saying that entertainment venues can open longer because we are a tourism province, so we have to follow the law as it is.

“If we have to arrest people, then we must arrest them. We should also introduce new measures to deal with repeat offenders such as permanently shutting bars that break the rules a certain number of times.”

The Governor also raised concern at the high level of violent crime on the island and urged police to bring perpetrators to justice.

Gen Decha told the Governor that he had recently gone to inspect developments by helicopter and had found many luxury properties, especially around Laem Son and Leam Sing, that have built steps down to the sea that are possibly illegal.

Gov Niran said that next time he would go up in the helicopter with him and if he found that any department or organization was not doing its job then action would be taken.

I don't like many laws in my country and violate them all the time But what has to do with my opinion that 2 AM is too early? I just like to go out all night. If everything closes at 2 I will go home but that doesn't mean that I enjoy it.

Didn't and wouldn't take it as such, but what is the difference between 8PM - 2AM vs. 10PM - 4AM. Either way it is 6 hours of party.

for me, i cant make it out by 8pm
i really like to enjoy my day and i am usually just winding down for a few drinks at 5-6pm, back to hotel at 8-830pm, relax for a minute and then out to dinner about 10pm
i dont get to the bars until 11pm
