Firstly Mr T my business has fcuk all to do with you....

Secondly i've been living in Phuket 4 years and have seen the highs and lows of RH. The days of BB, Jeff and Mr Mee were fantastic, the place really rocked.

For some reason unbeknown to me they have all gone and the new management just doesn't seem to be lighting the place up at all....

So point being whether i know about bars/gogo's or not the fact is this new management evidently isn't as effective as the old.... you get what i mean or still don't get it...

Anyway i'm sure Jeff and Mr Mee's new Roxy venture will go very well and they will sure attract a lot of the old RH customers plus many new ones.

Seeing this from the sharp pointy end these 2 are the biggest factors. I would add that Pattaya is much closer (read cheaper) for the Isaarn girls to get to, as fewer and fewer northern or BKK girls go into the bar scene as Thailand has become more prosperous.

Bangkok is so sprawling and large that its impossible to concentrate all the girls like it is in Patts or Patong, also there is no disco scene (except Angels/Nana) as there is in Patong or Patts, so if girls want to find a show case they must work in a go-go or beer bar to get spotted/taken out. OK there is the Nana carpark/Suk Rd mess but thats not exactly safe for girl or punter.

Patong is great for the hot disco queen girl - as so many disco options for her here, Banana/Baya Beach for the smarter/exeperienced/good english and Tiger/Tai Pan for the 'others'. Then LB/FL activity on Bangla - why bother 'working'!? GoGo is hard work for the girls - ok they get some security (gaurenteed base income/place to live etc) but dancing 5+ hours is no easy trip.

Perhaps Patong will end up with 3 or 4 'super go-go's' - more of a tourist trap (a la Dragon) than the old skool fun places.

For me I've had fun in most of them (Suzy Wong, Crazy Girls, Rock Hard, Flash and Dragon) - I like A/C and R&R and depends on who I'm showing around as to which one I'll head to.

BKK has loads of freelancer discos and for many of the good looking confident gals this is there main place of "work"

There are several in the big hotels which are bigger + better (ie music, lighting, shows, groovy good looking people etc) than anything in Patong including CM2 at the Novotel Siam Sq and Spasso at the Hyatt....then there is Narcissus, Qbar + Supper as well as nana/angels and tons of others spread throughout BKK......

I think that Patong certainly has a good availability of discos for its size but it just falls down on gogos due to the local legal constrictions.....also the beer bars in Patong are probably the best in the country by standard of gals.....and the gals do seem more comfortable in these in patong compared to other places......

Saw them glueing black carpet on the walls yesterday, that and the black uniforms must be very dark indeed. Nearly passed out with the glue smell, wonder if it helped get some of the customers high !!!

Pretty impressive LED sign they've had made, only trouble is you can only see it from the far pavement, if you're on the same side as Roxy you could walk straight past it...

Will be interesting how the first few weeks go, can be very make or break for a new business, especially in the Patong "A Go-Go" market....

I dont think Suzy Wongs got a problem with the music, lots of my customers who are in the age of 30's to 50's like it and we do cater for guys who are in that age..and its no use following the bigger ones,Have you ever thought its made that way for a reason.
we are a smaller gogo its no use copying the biger ones as we will turn out to be a small bad copy better to be original.
I keep Crazy Girls,Show Girls playing the dance stuff and Suzy Wongs more towards the rock. so customers have a choice could you imagine if all disco,pubs,bars,gogo's played only dance how tasteful would that be?

Accept that there are top end discos in BKK Nels ... and plenty of them ... but these are not so accessable as the FL working there will be generally pretty expensive (for starters they will need to recoup the 500 Baht+ entrance fee) and the ones with high ratio of Thai guys with their g/f's sisters etc are only open for hunting for the very good Thai speaker or stand risk of a serious beating.

Spasso girls typically want 3K++ ST - QBar 2K++, places like Mystique (Soi 33 - think moved/closed now) very high end has piles of super hot girls but not easy to 'play' there as wary of minder/Thai b/f / family protecting her from evil farang advances.

Dont think quality of girls or quantity of go-gos would increase even if authorities here (Patong) 'relaxed' - its hard enough to get girls to dance - let alone dance a la Patts stylie - salery bill would be colossal here. : .

As Thailand has become more prosperous - the number of girls entering the bar scene is dwindling and with the shift in demographics ... below age 15 now there are more men than women, Thailands chaep naughty days are in decline. Costs will inevidably increase - while quality, qaunity and attitudes decline.

wpould agree with that assessment Kev.....good showgals in Patts can get 25K from the bar so I am told...then with dance tips....ladydrinks....and there big tip from the night with the punter many are puling double to three times that figure....that's pretty good incentive to swirl around a pole for a job........

Going a touch off topic chaps and a little heated.

I do not like Go gos, within 5 minutes I'm bored in any of them, BKK, Patts or here, so this is a personal choice thing. To say Patong will never rival BKK or Patts for go gos, Nelson is firstly 'never' is a long time and depends surely on what individuals want.

Patong will not in my opinion at the moment allow such full on nudity and sexual acts. But if this is what makes a good go go to some people, why are they then moaning about the music, what do they actually go into a go go for??

The girls in go gos in my opinion charge more LT or ST, because firstly they usually have to be physically in better shape otherwise you would not choose them and secondly, all their wares are on display for you to make that decision, want to look at the goods before you buy, you gotta pay more!! if an establishment charges 600 or 1000bht bf, its their choice and they will make it for their business reasons, if you do not like to pay this amount, move on to somewhere its less cost, you are obviously barfining on looks alone so go window shop elsewhere!!

I personally think that we all should think about our own opinion and realise that we only have a snap shot of a place from holidaying or occasionally going to it. Some guy posts the music is crap and then admits later he was only in there for 1 hour. Well if they play by request, ever consider you just were in there during an hour of music you didn't personally like, however the guys requesting would post on here how brilliant the music was??.

Also before posting strong opinions about girls looks or music, remember its an individual choice thing and we do not all like the same music or girls??

As said, most of the girls are from Isaan these days. BKK is about an 8 hour bus ride away from the family in Isaan. Phuket is about a 20 hour bus ride(to Khon Kaen, less to Khorat, more to Udon Thani).

So it is just a hop, skip and a jump to run back and forth to Isaan for those in BKK, and a little more to Pattaya. It is a major undertaking to go home and come back when they are working in Patong.

And you know how BGs love to hang out with Mom and Dad!
