I agree with Hobbsy - the place has improved.I was in there on Thursday night and found it was a lot better.The music was good and the girls that were in front of me were at least moving about a bit.I noticed that one or two of them are ex Dragon dancers.:love3:

Another factor is that the new manager is the Thai guy who used to be working in Dragon.He is a friendly bloke to talk to..:^^:

SIZE="4"]I guess it still boils down to , after all these years, that many guys out there still think RH and other go-go bars hire girls as dancers.....from what I've heard the place on Sea Dragon where they hired dancers closed.....imagine they switch to totally dance music that gets people pumped to go look in the discos or beer bars ( did I mention freelance & beer bar girls don't get checked for STD like RH go-go girls do , on a regular basis) So now the punters who are loyal & spend money on partying with the RH girls have to put up with bad music ( IMHO ) and RH doesn't set the price the girls ask .....even the girls don't.....its set by the tourists who come here and have no qualms on the price the girls ask , since still cheaper then at home.....truth be told , most guys who live here on limited income always complain about monetary issues , whether its a drink or ladies price.....Patong has become the high-price beach resort in Thailand because of rents and most all items are shipped here fron BKk, so booze costs more !
I myself if I were a young guy would probably choose Pattaya.....unless water is an issue (beach)........All I know for sure is Girls that dance good always tend to get quicker bar fines......and RH still plays better overall music then most....last time I listened R&R is still being played at sporting events,radio,TV and in movies......but let them play what the girls want to dance to and we'll have all Thai music go-go's......I may be turning 60 in October this year, I've lived here for 20 years but I guess we'll all be listening to Thai Rap Crap....and you thought Rap couldn't get worse .uke: LOL BB[/SIZE][/SIZE]

I've always got the feeling that:
* working go-go was considered a lower class way of getting to the customer
* some of the girls in there are really hardcore and chase off the softer girls
* working in a go-go is too much like work.
* If you're hot it's a lot easier to freelance as a disco queen.
* freelancing is is easier to spin her story that she isn't so hardcore.

So basically for those that find Phuket appealing, working go-go isn't.

but as i said before the bar exists because of the clients not the paid staff so the customers come first !

would prety much agrree with this assessment for Phuket but from my experience it is quite the reverse in Patts ATM........

In Patts if you are one of the best looking gals in town you will be a show gal and get paid 25K plus from the bar and then a perceneforum.xxxe for lady drinks and BF's plus your tips from the punter....big money for any TG and irresistable to some.....

had 2 Patts show gals show me pictures of the houses they are building in Issan during my trip last week........and they were both quite large structures....both said budgets about 250K

Gogos in patts are where the punters go.....as apposed to Phuket where it is the bars + discos....and that's where the gals wanna be.....so they are earning more......mind you there are also plenty of great looking FLs in the discos...especially Tony's and Lucifers

Rex 7777, first time I came to Rock Hard, in 1991, RH was upstairs and there was a bar/eating place called Dooley's downstairs. Big Bill (Wizzard) was known for his meatloaf. So much hasn't changed in 18 years.
Known Rock Hard upstairs/downstair/upstairs and downstairs, smokin Joes, and Rock country (with small Larry) with girls dancing with cowboy hats and very short jeans.

Seems to be a bunch of new girls working there.

3 or 4 stunners,IMO.

Plenty of customers too.

Hi As a long time customer and an old regular I must admit that Rock Hard has been going down hill, The Dancers: No interaction with the customers like the old days....no dancing, just pole hanging!! and I swear they have been playing the same music for the last 20 years!!!! The old managers are no longer there. Larry the owner could care less about the place. The Manager in the Go Go bar is so wasted everytime I have spoke with him.... no wonder the place has lost it. Stick to Dragon for a fun Go Go

I am not sure what happened dwonstairs at the Rio bar. The staff and bar were fun for the first year or so...... but this place too, seams to have run out of fuel and has taken on a boring atmospher.
