Good for you. If enough people ask first, and simply walk out when rip-off prices are being asked, maybe they'll eventually get the hint. Even if they do come down to a "fair" price, walking out will get the point across better. Why should anyone be supporting a place that's trying to rip you off if they can?

Shame on us, we should know its ok to con, steal, manipulate, intimidate and rob.. providing you send half the cash to your family.

As to "wondering", it's you who's doing that. I couldn't care less.

I doubt your ability to "Phoitoshop" anything, as you can't even spell the name properly, and I don't recall your posting any memorable photos of anything, ever. Even Tarzan seems to be able to take surprisingly good photos. Based on the way he acts here, I'd never have expected that. Instead of having to prove something by beating on others, he should just post more photos, which he's obviously quite good at.

If the beach was still the way you remember things, you'd be correct.

However, with all the new lighting, and all the police walking around, and the fireworks mostly gone, not to mention what seems like 100 people walking all over trying to sell balloons, the beach area is nothing like what you describe, at least not up 'till 1am or so, which is the latest I'm ever there. It's all getting quiet again, but of the hundreds of balloons that tourists are buying, you see them going up in the air all along the beach area, pretty much from one end to the other. I doubt very much that any of the tourists buying them have read anything I've said here, and probably never even heard of this forum.

To answer your question, as long as there are quite a few people around, I feel reasonably "safe". It's when there's nobody around that I get concerned.

However "safe" or "unsafe" you feel the Beach is at those times, I'd say it's FAR safer than walking around most big American cities at the same hour.

Anyway, I'll leave things here for you to go back to your discussion with Gary. I've got way too much to do over the next few weeks. And just for the record, while you and I obviously don't agree on a lot of things (anything?), I was serious about what I said regarding your photos. Many of them were quite good, much better than the "snapshots" people usually take.

well, TC, you have to admit it is pretty odd behavior on your part
you spend a decent amount of time on this forum and by the looks of your pictures, you are 25 yards from MTB at times, but don't stop by to put a name to a face
that is just odd behavior, why would you want to interact on this forum but not want to meet the people if you got a chance?

i went to Spicy Girls a few nites ago, i took 9 friends (their 1st trip 1 thailand) a bar owner near there arranged for "someone" to come & get us from his bar, & take us in to club avoid the touts,
we all walk in sit down , as soon as we sat - a "tout" (it seems they also work inside ) came up 2 me & asked wat i want 4 a drink, i said how much he showed me a menu, 500B , i said " NO not paying 500 i pay 130b , he walked away , said some thing 2 another tout inside (looked like there were at least 4 others in there as well.) he came up & asked me same, u want drink 500b, i said no again , during this the other touts were trying to get my friends to buy 500b drinks, but i said dont order until i say its ok, then the lady who brought us in tells them its arranged only 130b a drink, they argue with her, the fcuken tout comes up again & says 500b ,i stand my ground say NO, they all (touts) finally walk away & let me order drinks at 130,

the actual bar staff walk around with sign saying 130B 2nd drink,
i saw so many ppl come in with touts, & no doubt got robbed by paying $$$$ for drinks,by the low life scum touts.
it seems the staff have no control with these cnuts inside the bar
