Kijiji banning non RMT massage

I just was contacted by a non RMT, legit, who said she was banned by Kijiji starting this week. They are cracking down on non RMT massage therapists.

Sounds like Kijiji massage may go the way of Backpage.

Treat your semi legit RMTs well people, as there will have to be a different advertising approach soon. Perhaps this site will step into the space, more?

They are cracking down on non RMT massage therapists.

This has been their policy since day one! In order to post in the "massage" section you must: State that all therapists have 2200 hours training; be a registered therapist; and be able to provide reciepts for insurance purposes. This is why Laura has been constantly kicked off of Kijiji. Somebody has a grudge against her and every time she posts this person rats on her that she doesn't meet the policy requirements. From what I understand, she will soon be "legit" after completing her RMT training.

Ads that contain full body photographs are not permitted and we ask that you limit photos to head shots or photographs of the facility. Please state that you are in fact registered and that you’re able to provide insurance receipts within the body of the ad. Also, please have your RMT license number available upon request by our team here at Kijiji or by Kijiji users responding to your ad. The same rules apply for Estheticians and Holistic Health Practitioners; professional certification, education and/or training must be clearly noted within their Ads. Estheticians are permitted to post an ad for massage services as long as it’s included as part of a package, and not on its own. Any “wanted” ads requesting a massage are not permitted unless they specifically request an RMT. Tantric, sensual and sexual massages are prohibited.
The ad that was removed from Kijiji* was:

I was not impressed and will be reposting anytime I choose.

These ad restrictions are making so many people have challenges. I’m sure I can post an ad that says I’m a handyman without my credentials

Kijiji is a total joke when it comes to enforcing their massage ad rules (...or any of their rules!) Just out of curiosity, I started a vigorous campaign for a couple weeks of diligently checking massage ads and flagging and reporting ads that broke the rules. Not one of them was removed and they still post the same ads that they did before. But once you get put into their system ("black-balled") you can't post another ad in the "massage" category.

My own experience with kijiji and being flagged : I used to own a very competitive business. At one point My ads would go up and within a few hours they would be flagged. What I did was contact Kijiji and found that they were being flagged by a reader. My competitor. My ad would go up it got flagged kijiji took it down. I emailed my competitor and was told , we have people that will sit and watch for your ads to come up . If you put them up again we will take them down . I sent the email to my contact at kijiji and that ended it. Yes kijiji may be doing it , however , at that time it was a group of people wanting to take you out of business. With what is happening in the industry where everyone is struggling , perhaps there are people that for reasons of their own want to mess with you. Just a thought. I seldom get into these discussions anymore and I try hard to refrain from it. This is just my experience with kijiji , it may not be what is happening . This board is a great place to advertise , it is why it exists in the first place. Consider it an option. Again in my opinion it would like to see more providers pop in to weigh in and advertise here. Laura does, Miss Annalise has , as did Sasha ( welcome Sasha) .

I think Caucasian Kelly is also advertising as an rmt now, I don’t think she was one?

Anyhow, I think girls going to have to link a social media account to provide more info.

Agree with Derek. Maggie is a perfect example. Not a RMT but advertise as such and promise of giving receipt etc... but never does. Kijiji is driving that kind of behavior.

Let's not blame Kijiji for ladies lying. Doing that is like blaming the police for drunks leaving the scene of an accident.
Drunks cause an accident and know the police will charge them with impaired driving so blaming Kijiji is like blaming the cops when the drunk leaves the scene of an accident.

Yes...that's why its hilarious that Tokyo Spa and its sister location 9164 23rd Avenue (no sign above location, but called "Good Hands Beauty Spa") advertise in kijiji, they both have RMT services. I texted one of those places, what their Registered Massage Therapist charges for a Massage, and I got a response "Cash Only".

Hilarious....just to get their ads in kijiii and to get a few red faced suckers, thinking they are going to get a $60 an hour therapeutic RMT Massage.

There are lots of shops/spas where there are only one or two therapists qualified to write receipts. They may not even be at the shop most of the time. So mostly it is smoke and mirrors

Similar tactics to how I deal with my insurance company when submitting a receipt for compensation from less than legit establishments.

I am really confused as to how Kijiji algorithms work where they can actually flag and delete real RMT places that offer the services we are looking for and leave alone the disguised non-RMT places continue to exist still with no flags. I am looking at Good Hands, Healing Massage, Perfect Match, Tokyo Spa, Wild Rose, etc.
