Phom Phen / Angeles city was seriously being spoken about by some expats last night..

You have to remember many of these guys are 10 - 15 year veterens from the days of blowjobs while sat at the bar.. To them this is not frontier town / wild west anymore...

Though I like Angeles city I would be more inclined to head to Samui for 6 months first.. Phuket is getting to me a bit..

tell me about it,i was the one that had to deal with the cops.she was running down the corridoor naked screaming,the poor girl with me didnt no what to do.next day the reception asked me to tell my friend if it happens again he will be kicked out,everyone on our floor complained.he didnt make things any easier,as she brought a cake and bottle of champagne round as it was her friends birthday the next day,he opened the champagne and drank it in front of her and picked up the cake and thru it against the wall.
i had to laugh but he was pushing his luck,i thought there would be some thai doods there next day to kick him in.

Well the place has been open a couple of days but its opening party is tonight... One of my regulars is called Bee but I am pretty sure its not the same one (lots of Killer Bee's )..

Finding a lock in and or a quiet out of the way place is one thing but its not the same as having the town jumping is it ?? Theres lots of places I can go and drink till the sun comes up and beyond but just seriously boozing is not the same a Soi thats jumping and girls everywhere..

for anyone who has travelled to Phnom Pen, or Angeles you will have noticed a very big difference to Thailands tourists...they are mostly male in their late 50's/60's and looking for 16 year old virgin nymphets, just like in Pattaya 25 years ago, std's are also a major problem in both these city's...much more than in Thailand.Many of the people going to these places stay less than a week, says alot really,investment in these places is 1,000 % more dangerous than in Thailand also.....so not everything is bad here.

A closer look at the police notice for closing times shows that ONLY caeforum.xxxory 3.1 licence holders can stay open in the zone until 2.00 a.m... I believe there are only 2 with this licence in the whole of Patong and they are not held by any of the so called big boys on Bangla .
All the ago-go bars and disco/band type bar beers that have just gone thru the long and expensive renewal process for their new licences... it looks like your new 3.4 a-d licence's are not worth jack sh*t as a bar beer next door to you can operate just the same as you with no recourse of a possible 30 day closure for a licence mis-da-mina.

Big Boys in Phuket City are saying that 04.00 a.m is coming for high season ?? , but will there be a high season.

This is really going to define the future of Patongs tourists, Jung Ceylon Ist seforum.xxxe opens Jan 2005, this can't be a flag ship in the centre of sex and bar business's

Last week went out and bumped into a mate in Kangaroo at 11.30 AM and started drinking.. He had a spat with his wife and said he felt like getting pissed, so never one to let a mate drink alone I figured I would help..

Got home 8AM the following day.. 20 hours striaght !!! Memory stopped at about 4 AM so no idea where I spent those last 4 hours..

So much for the rules (and my liver / wallet)..

Dont know if I agree with yoy assessment of Angeles though I would agree somewhat if it was purely Laos/Cambodia.. Angeles seems like a fairly developed and safe place, many of the expat bars are owned by farang. Thats owned outright not leased / rented / etc like here.

I have only seen the police notice in Thai and so my understanding of it is limited but I thought that ALL places including discos nightclubs etc were on a 1AM closure ?? As to the 4AM sounds like wishful thinking, if Phuket does it Samui will cry foul etc...

I do agree with you assessment though re Jungceylon and the changing face of Patong..

I thought Cambodia was a safer place these days, but your probably right. A regime with that violent past is not easy to change. But Ive heared roumers of nice beaches and bars, and western people starting to put money into the system down there.

Nightclubs can open 21 and close 02, thats why I was wondering what the difference between a disco and nightclub was. They could apply for nightclub license then.

On the other hand, most discos here dont even have a disco license, they run as a bar.

Regarding the new laws and entertainment zones, I received a thick book last week with all the new regulations and more detailed descriptions of the various kind of licenses, but this is in Thai.

Bangla is stil alive after closing time. I remember one night, I was with my BG/GF and we went out Tai Pan at 3:00 - 3:30, so we ate something on Bangle where a singer with a giutar were singing some Thai end english songs.
