Look, you're not the first to get caught up in the fantasy but it's usually overweight middle aged men who get sucked into it, not young hansome men like yourself. I sincerely hope that when the fantasy wears off you haven't lost too much money and maybe she's even a girl worth keeping. If you only knew how many thousands of other men were in exactly the same situation as you and had the same chronic illness of terminal uniqueness.
You'll have noticed that some of the more seasoned BMs have taken it lightly and injected a bit of sarcasm into the thread rather than take it seriously. The reason for that is they are smart enough to know that you wouldn't listen even if they gave you some good serious advice. They have become jaded after years of trying to talk sense into many many people like yourself so now they don't even bother...they just take it lightly.
As has been mentioned here, you're sending a massive amount of money; approximately 5 or 6 monthly salaries. I spend a lot of time in Isaan and I see how little money is actually needed to live up here. I'm in Isaan right now actually. Most of them farm rice so they get it for free. They get fish for free in the local lakes(they don't buy fishing line, they use home-made straw baskets to catch the fish) they get vast amounts of food from the local environment: all kinds of insects, field rats, they cut certain tree limbs to make soup, they gather ant larvae to make soup, they grow bananas, papaya, pineapple, etc. etc. These people are dirt poor and have been living off the land for centuries. They gather rain water for drinking water. They shower by pouring a bucket of cold water over their head. They don't buy toilet paper. The only money they need is to pay for the little bit of electricity they use to power the one or 2 lights and the TV in their house, and to buy a few other things like sugar, soap, toothpaste and the odd item to supplement their diet. Can you now see that you are sending thousands of Baht more than is needed?
So, enjoy the fantasy while it lasts and when it wears off, I truly hope you have gotten your money's worth.

thanks guys for the advice i asked if she wonted to me send more money but she's happy with this amount. she working a day job so she makes 6000 per month her mum looks after her baby for her. she wont's me to save the money, so we can be together quicker.
am pretty sure this girl really does love me.
we talk everyday and she gets really upset if i miss a day.
i can ring anytime and she'll answer no background noise from bars ever.

Depends on the person, if your friend gives you his word it might mean more than the word of the guy at the used car yard
2. where would the best place to meet a thai girl, that's not just after your money? Anywhere away from a bar area where Thai girls go to meet farangs with money.

3. does meeting a family mean anything? If a Thai girl brings you home to meet the family it is the farang equivalent of saying you are getting engaged.

4. what is the decent thing to do when staying with their family, what is expected of you? Same as a prospective son-in-law in the West, show that you are someone they should want to have in their family, show respect to the family elders, show respect to their home and try not to get caught "doing" their daughter for the first few nights at least.

5. so you say if they really wont to be with you shouldn't have to give any money at all? Wrong. If she is a normal girl with a normal job her peers will still expect to see that she has improved her situation somehow now that she has a BF (aka someone to take "care" of her). She will lose face if she is out of pocket having you for a BF. This money will mostly be in the form of small gifts, topping up her mobile, paying for her taxi to see you and home, etc and a small amount of cash. If she quits that job to move to your country and marry you then expect to give her family at least what she was giving them when she was working each month and to pay sin sot bride price etc etc. Still works out much cheaper than a farang GF.

6. should i even bother trying to get a thai girl friend if i can't get them out of the country quickly? I believe it takes a 2 year relationship to able to get a thai into Australia. Oz Tourist visas are seldom difficult to get - a few months into a relationship is enough.


The Visa process is the same for each type of visa - it is the same paperwork each time with some additional documents - police clearance and health checks being the main ones added for the Spouse Visa/Marriage Visa.
Oh and don't forget to add a couple of grand of $A in fees.
